4 Frugal Tips for Christmas Shopping in December

With all the madness of 2020, setting a budget for holiday gift shopping may have slipped your mind. Next thing you realize it is December and money may not be as plentiful as before Covid. Here are 4 tips to help you fulfill your Christmas gift list without breaking the bank.

TIP #1: SHOP YOUR HOME

Look for items that you are able to re-gift in a meaningful way. Do you have a friend or family member who likes your fashion sense? Check to see if you have clothing that still have tags hanging in your closet. Maybe it will fit them!

Do you have someone who is a wine aficionado? Maybe someone would appreciate one of your bottles wine.

TIP #2: COMPARISON SHOP

Check the prices of stores which carry the same gift item you need. Maybe one toy store is offering a coupon for that same American Girl doll that your niece wants.

TIP #3: CREATE A HOMEMADE GIFT

People appreciate the thought and effort in a personalized gift. They will express gratitude equal to, if not more, than an item bought in a store. Example: Framed photos or knitted scarf with their favorite colors.

TIP #4: SET UP A GROUP GIFT

Collaborating with your friends or family members to contribute towards one big gift for someone can prove to be a true cost effective measure in comparison to buying an independent gift.
